Q:  What is the purpose of your ministry?

The purpose of the School Advisory Committee (SAC) is to advise our school leaders (Priest, Principal and teachers) our thoughts on a variety of topics relating to Sts. Peter and Paul School.  Topics many include field trip/camp destinations, technology needs, grant applications/uses, dress code, utility expenses, staffing needs, teacher compensation, fundraising planning/coordination and recruiting planning coordination.  The elected committee members hold a three year term.  Other than speaking with Fr. Scott and Ms. Niese, we do not routinely work with anyone from the parish staff.

Q:  How frequently do you meet?
The SAC meets on a monthly basis during the school year.

Q:  How does someone become involved?
You can contact Fr. Scott, Ms. Niese or someone on the School Advisory Council to ask when a seat would be open on the committee.

Q:  Are you ever in need of volunteers?
We hold fundraising events throughout the year, such as the 6th grade flower sales, the book fair and our recruitment open house, in which we need volunteers.

Q:  How long has the ministry been serving the parish?
We have been providing support since our parish school began.

Q:  How do you communicate activities with the parish?
We put information in the bulletin.  We also have handouts we give to the school kids or we email the parents.
