Q:  What is the purpose of your ministry?

Non-Profit Retail Store:  We have a retail sales store which helps to provide funding to purchase food, clothing, toys, household items, etc. to local families who are in need.  

Christmas for the Needy:  We have a Christmas for the Needy program during the Christmas season.  We distribute toys to families through the Toys for Tots program organized by the Putnam Optimist.  

Emergency Assistance Program:  We assist at times of disaster and other circumstances on a case-by-case basis.

Baby Needs:  We offer diapers and educational resources for young moms.

Choice Food Pantry:  Families are given "points" based on the number people in their household that they can use weekly in the Choice Food Pantry located in the back of the store.  Families MUST be a resident of Putnam County to participate.  The majority of the food is purchased through the West Ohio Food Bank in Lima, Ohio and Kohl's Market in Ottawa.  We also receive (and greatly appreciate) donations from various local organizations.

Warehouse Help:  We are always looking for volunteers to help prepare metal for recycling and to bale clothes for shipments to needy countries.  We have tasks for all age groups.  This volunteer opportunity is located in our warehouse at the Putnam County Fairgrounds.  We are open the first Saturday of every month from 8:30 am to 11:30 am.  The warehouse is not climate controlled so dress accordingly.  Thank you to all of our volunteers!

We have a board of 8 members who meet regularly.

We have been providing support to families for many years.

Q:  How do you communicate activities with the parish?
You can find us on our Facebook page called Putnam County Community Thrift Store.  We also submit information into the Parish bulletin a few times a year.
